Tallow soap

Tallow soap is silky smooth to use and smells amazing with no trace of beefy smell in the cured product

Some of what I've been up to ~ tallow soap. It's been an interesting and amazing smelling experiement (no remnants of beefy smell left in the cured product, just the essential oils I added). We already render beef fat to make tallow for roasties and balm so this makes a lot of sense to us. The texture of the soap is so silky smooth and my skin is liking it. I have a couple of people trialling it for me and they love it too. It's in my plans to sell some in the next few months, so keep your eyes peeled.

I love using animal products on my skin. Emu oil is something I've been using for years and tallow balm for the past year. Beeswax is a wonderful emulsifier. When you consider how similar in make up to our own the fatty acids are in animal fats and how good our skin feels to use them, it's a given to look at what our ancestors used. Yes I love plants too, but in the case of itchy and irritated or dry skin sometimes we need to look at alternatives that support our skin in a different way.
